During the Workday

Working
  • Show up on time.
  • Greet coworkers (or children) differently
  • Take a moment to pray.

Breaks

  • Take mini-breaks, take a short walk.
  • Take five to ten minutes to be quiet and focus on God.

Lunch

  • Use it as a mini-break with God.

Everyday Relationships

  • Listen. Use the phrase "Tell me more"
  • Use touch, speak words of love.
  • Look for opportunities to do simple acts of service.
  • Learn from difficult people.
  • Receive feedback well.

Miscellaneous

  • Place symbols or reminders of God's presence in your work setting.
  • Make sure your work setting is well ordered.
  • Walk more slowly, breathe deeply
  • Drive in the slow lane.
  • Stand in the longest line at the grocery store.

Ending the workday

  • End your day honestly. Ask God for help to work diligently the next day.
Dinner/ Evening Routine
  • See the evening meal as a time for the family to eat together and share in prayer and a possible devotional.

Miscellaneous
  • Listen to God's leading and follow them.
  • Schedule time to be alone with God.
  • Use the way that God has given to you as a "way" that is your strength to enjoy His presence.
  • De-clutter your life.
  • Use your free time for life-giving recreation.
  • Set appropriate boundaries by saying not some things so you can say yes to others.
Sabbath Day
  • Worship regularly.
  • Read spiritually enriching books.
  • Create time for prayer and solitude.
  • Avoid certain activities: checking e-mail, reading advertisements, Etc.
